City of Westfield-Adopt A Trail Program
The City of Westfield’s Adopt-A-Trail Program allows local individuals, families, businesses, neighborhood associations, organizations, churches, and community groups to perform a valuable community service by adopting a section of city trail to keep clear of litter and debris. Groups who participate in the Adopt-A-Trail Program will have their name recognized with a personalized sign installed on their adopted trail.
The Adopt-A-Trail Program is free and open to those with a willingness to adopt an approximate 1-mile stretch of trail and agree to remove litter three (3) times per year, (March-November). Participants may renew their adopted trail every two years, providing that program requirements are met. The city will provide groups with safety vests, trash grabbers, trash bags, and a first aid kit each session. Groups must be able to dispose collection bags on their own or at the City of Westfield's City Services Complex, located at 2728 E171st Street. Groups will complete a post project clean-up completion form to submit to the city. Participating youths must be at least (12) years of age and have parental permission. The Adopt-A-Trail Program promotes community pride by demonstrating to residents, tourists and businesses that the community is active, energetic and cares about a clean and safe environment.
